Toothy's Tortoise is a reptile owned by Toothy as a pet. It appears in Junk in the Trunk and two other episodes.

Character Bio

Toothy's Tortoise is a recurring animal character in the series. It mainly appears as Toothy's pet in Junk in the Trunk. Toothy was watching his slow-moving reptile walk across a plank, until he was distracted and the pet was stolen by Lifty and Shifty. Later, the tortoise (while in its shell) was tossed at Lumpy as he pursued the thieving duo. At the end of the episode, the tortoise manages to reach the other side of the plank and jumps off the tip.

In Letter Late than Never, a similar-looking tortoise is also seen, but this time the creature is very violent. It attacked Lumpy the mailman and chased after him various times. The tortoise was shown to be very determined, as it did not give up pursuing Lumpy until it finally caught and devoured him whole. There is a chance that it is a different animal than the first, due to the inconsistent behavior. However, Kenn Navarro confirmed that the animal was indeed intended to be Toothy's pet.

The terrapin appears again briefly in A Sight for Sore Eyes in Lumpy's closet, as a rather strange choice of seeing-eye animal, only without the flame design.
