I think we're done talking. As a side note, this message was created to congratulate a user, but instead you had to turn it into a argument about bolster editing. I just hope this never happens again when I give another user a congratulations message.

Hey man, congratulations for being the third person to achieve the 365 Daily Edit badge. You must be proud at yourself.

    • Congratulations PokemonTDHTF98! Are you finish here on the HTF Wikia now or what now? :) /Kenny Navarro (talk)

    • That is so weird, he does nothing here except edit his profile, unless I just miss his edits.

        Loading editor
    • Unfortunatly, I love this show, but it's been like a 2 year hiatus on this, so what I'm going to think, and it's a tough decision, is that I'm leaving this wikia, meaning I won't be here on this alot anymore.

Sandgar, if you're here, I'll still be on DeviantArt (PokeDramaFriends98).

      Until then, Farewell.

    • All he ever does recently is add and remove empty lines on his profile. He used to actually edit, in fact, he used to be a rollback but not anymore on either.

        Loading editor
    • So, just as I figured, he was only here for that badge...

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, and I was the one who gave him the rollback and took it away.

        Loading editor
    • It's kind of sad actually, just making invisible edits on his own profile for a badge.

        Loading editor
    • We need to make a rule against this. So users don't try this again

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, have to say, it's been confusing me for a long time why he came back to edit his profiles when he rarely came to take part in discussions or try to help now in then during the course of it all. If you're going to be here, you can at least try once in a while to share input on a discussion board or lend a hand. I will agree, it's hard even for me to find simple edits these days, but it doesn't hurt to jump in and talk or something.

Still, the guy got 365 days of stuff, so congrats to you.

        Loading editor
    • true, and I did it a few times where I used my profile to keep my days up, but I usually only did that due to me being grounded or something along that line

        Loading editor
    • Listen guys, I'm sorry, but I'm very busy in the outside world with school and upcoming college, and mostly my future. And I'm also busy on DeviantArt.

        Loading editor
    • Well man, I will say something. I'm a college student that has to get up very early, get stressed out with plenty of projects (especially now), has at home things to deal with, and busy working on FanFiction.Net, and yet I can always find just a few minutes a day to keep my eyes on the feed, contribute to a discussion or debate, and maybe find a simple edit now and then. It isn't that hard.

      Doesn't it fall under bolstering?

I don't think so, since bolstering is mostly doing an edit and undoing it. Doing it continuously on one day counts as bolstering.

        Loading editor
    • Well, he did it over a very long time, and he did very little productive edits recently

        Loading editor
    • In my time here, I never seen a single productive edit coming from him other than changing one invisible line in his profile.

        Loading editor
    • Well, when he arrived here, he did very productive edits.

Back in November he fixed a typo on List of Occupations where it said Lofty and Shifty. That's pretty much it.

        Loading editor
    • Yes, and like Steph said. It is sad he did this.

        Loading editor
    • I think the definition of bolstering should be extended to include this. Shot, I'm supposed to be doing that.

        Loading editor
    • I don't think we should punish him, especially since he is leaving the wiki anyways, but next time someone does anything close to this, we will warn them, but if they keep doing it, we will ban em for a day, so they lose their day achievement.

        Loading editor
    • Um… sorry buddy, you're my great friend but isn't HTFan kind of doing that?

        Loading editor
    • What you mean

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, I still come here for discussions, constantly have the activity feed up watching for vandals, and only change the counter on my profile once. Other than that, I'm actually on the wiki.

        Loading editor
    • And if there is simple edits that can be made, I still give my opinions and lend a hand when I can.

        Loading editor
    • But that counter of yours pretty much only exists so that if everything else fails, you get your day. If I'm wrong, please explain its purpose.

        Loading editor
    • I mean if they do it for a very long time, and do nothing productive, like what sherman did

        Loading editor
    • I still don't think stuff like HTFan's counter should be allowed.

        Loading editor
    • I just do it there just for kicks really; I could erase it and still do something for the day. It's not the only thing I do for the day as I'm still keeping watch on the activity and still doing something. Hell, if it makes you feel better, I'll get rid of the damn thing. I just like keeping track of how many days I've been here.

        Loading editor
    • I see nothing wrong having it.

        Loading editor
    • It's a bolster. No one visiting your profile has anything to gain from knowing that number.

        Loading editor
    • Still don't see any negative effects caused by it. It's there for personal use and I don't think I need to get rid of it.

        Loading editor
    • Animationfan, this is important.

        Loading editor
    • Not really; we got plenty of other things to worry about then something this insignificant.

        Loading editor
    • Thing is, HTFan does edit

        Loading editor
    • Exactly, I do edit when needed and do contribute whenever I see an interesting blog or forum discussion. It's not like a literally sit and do nothing.

    • Sandgar wrote:

      Precisely!

        Loading editor
    • Also we can take this up in chat if need.

        Loading editor
    • Animationfan stop that!

That is not the point! And we need to clearly define this so that we can... well... clearly define this.

If that's really true, then that's just....

    • Take a look at his contribs list.

        Loading editor
    • I think that we can all agree on that we need a very specific boistering rule.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, it would be good.

        Loading editor
    • That's all I've been trying to this whole time.

        Loading editor
    • Well I will have to write the rule. I am going to make it bias

        Loading editor
    • Checked it; so long as the 'editing profile only' rule stays, then that's fine by me.

        Loading editor
    • That didn't really change anything…

        Loading editor
    • It does enough; if you edit only your profile and provide no other beneficial responses or contributions to the wiki, then that will get you in trouble. Simple.

        Loading editor
    • It is a simple rule, didn't need to be more complex

        Loading editor
    • Straight and to the point, how all rules should work.

        Loading editor
    • The problem was not that the rule didn't specifically mention that it includes your own userpage. Therefore, it changed nothing.

        Loading editor
    • It has profile, meaning userpage, I will not change the rule.

        Loading editor
    • 'This rule also encompasses editing only your profile'

Kind of says it right there about also only editing your profile aka userpage, which is what the problem was. The rule is clearly made here.

        Loading editor
    • I literally just said that wasn't the problem, HTFan.

        Loading editor
    • Then I seriously have no idea what your problem is here. The rule is completely fine as it is.

        Loading editor
    • No because the way that the rule is exactly writen, Pokemon was still following it.

        Loading editor
    • Chat time, and also this thread is to be deleted soon

        Loading editor
    • He was editing only his profile, which is now against the rules as the rule says that. It is written exactly how it should be: simple and straight to the point. I just don't see what you're seeing here.

This rule is actually fair, especially if he only edits his profile just so he can only earn badges.

        Loading editor
    • I know this won't make any effect on the wiki, but I think this is why we should have badges deactivated. As I mentioned last month, I think badges is just a cheap attempt to prove themselves as the best editor on the wiki. Besides, once you edit, you must come here for 365 days in a row just to prevent losing that daily streak. Also, I think having no badges will lower stress.
