  • I know that we agreed to keep badges, but there's this one thing that keeps popping up in my head:

Do badges tell who's the best editor?

I feel like people who work on the wiki daily strive to get badges. I notice that the badge everybody strives for is the Lucky Edit. People treat editing on this wiki to be a contest just to win badges. If we didn't have badges, editing wouldn't act like a contest.

Would you agree? Besides, like I said earlier, this wasn't made to have badges repealed.

    • I should agree with you. I feel myself as that kind of person. Now I think it would be better to just disable them (They're however a good way to get new users, so I can be wrong). Anyways, I'll edit here daily, will there be badges or not.

    • If there weren't badges, people would still see it as a contest for the edits count on their profile. It's human nature. Badges exist to give new editors an incentive to contribute in different ways.

    • I would personally prefer it if we didn't have badges, but I'll edit with or without them

    • And that's why the badges aren't there for you.

    • I believe we should keep the badges.
