Trivia[]
- Although Fliqpy is responsible for the deaths, the woodpecker is to be blamed because he starts pecking, leading to Flippy flipping out.
- This is the first episode where a non-anthropomorphic animal is killed.
Not even a small little bird is safe from the cruelty of the Happy Tree Friends world.
- A "WAH!" sound is heard when Fliqpy kills the woodpecker with his Bowie knife.
- This is the first episode to introduce a new character since Stayin' Alive.
- This is the first time a main character intentionally kills another character.
- This is the third time in a row where Toothy is the first character to die.
- This episode makes Flaky the tenth character to come back to life for another episode.
- This is (so far) the only time we see the characters play hide and seek.
- This is the first time Lumpy doesn't appear in a Toothy-starring episode.
- This is one of the rare instances where Flaky and Petunia have some form of interaction with each other.
- This is one of ten season one episodes with no quick shot moment in it. The other episodes are Pitchin' Impossible, House Warming, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, You're Bakin' Me Crazy, Meat Me for Lunch, Sweet Ride, It's a Snap, Off the Hook, and Happy Trails Pt. 1.
- After Flippy goes insane, he doesn't look like his Fliqpy form, instead appearing with normal eyes. This is because this is his first episode, and they were still working on his design.
- The YouTube thumbnail for the Classics Remastered version spoils Petunia's injury before her death.
- This episode's title has no pun or reference.
- Not counting the woodpecker's death, Petunia's death is the only death containing blood or gore in this episode.
- This is one of the episodes where Flippy makes "flipping sound" when he is flipping out.
- This episode marks the first time that Jonathan Bach composed the music. The second being was It's a Snap, This Is Your Knife, Flippin' Burgers, Keepin' it Reel & Let It Slide.
Cultural References[]
- The teaser released before the episode is a direct reference to the reality game show Survivor, which has a similar logo and the slogan "Out Wit, Out Play, Outlast".
- The way Fliqpy kills Toothy & Flaky is the same as Rambo did in Rambo: First Blood Part 2.
Production Notes[]
- Originally, Cuddles was originally intended to appear in this episode, but he was cut because, according to Kenn Navarro, the team liked the other three deaths more. He was originally going to be killed by Fliqpy by having his head puffed up, before having his head explode. This cut death was included in a demo reel made by animator Steve Schwertner.
