Trivia

Trivia[]

  • This is the first and only episode to premiere in 2005.
    • This is because the TV Season began production during the same year.
  • This is the last time the characters have their original designs. Every webisode after this one has a new, improved design matching the TV Series (with the exception of the Break episodes, which were made prior to the full-fledged TV series).
    • This is the last episode in which Sniffles has a long snout. In all future appearances, his snout would be shorter. (first shown in the previous episode)
      • The picture Lumpy takes of Sniffles shows him with his short snout.
  • This is the only season finale that Lumpy dies in so far (Debatable, as he may have survived the crash at the end of the episode).
  • This is one of the few characters to not have a last character die, as many died at the same time.
  • This is one of the two episodes where both of Lumpy's antlers are shown pointing upwards at some point. The other is Concrete Solution.
    Upantlers

Man Lumpy looks so weird like that.

  • If Flaky and Lumpy survive or die in the bus crash instead of being killed by the baboon, Cuddles is the only character whose death isn't caused by an animal. (Debatable, as he ran into the helium tank when he was trying to run away from the baboon.)
  • The YouTube thumbnail for Part 1 spoils Lumpy’s injury.
  • In the beginning of the episode, all of the kids except Flaky sing the HTF theme song when entering the zoo. The other times the characters sing the theme are Cuddles, Flaky, and Giggles in This Is Your Knife, and most of the cast in Happy Trails parts 1 and 2. The group would later sing the song again in Take a Hike.
  • Lumpy goes camping with the same group (with the addition of Nutty) in Take a Hike.
  • Minus Flaky, the same cast of main characters appear in Peas in a Pod. Lumpy stars in both episodes, while the rest of the cast have featuring roles.
  • The balloon animal that Lumpy makes out of Cuddles' inflated eye is a rabbit, just like Cuddles.
  • Cuddles is indirectly responsible for Toothy's death, as he made the rhino angry in the first place.
  • Lumpy is shown to be left-handed during the entirety of this episode.
  • This is the second time that Flaky cries. The first was in Ski Ya, Wouldn't Wanna Be Ya!.
  • This episode makes Lumpy and/or Flaky (Debatably) the last character(s) to die in the second internet season.
  • Giggles is the only primary character to not appear in this episode.

Cultural References[]

  • The title of this episode is a parody of the phrase "from A to Z", which means from start to finish.
  • The moral means that you shouldn't act against those on whom you depend.

Superlatives[]

  • This is the second time a vehicle crashes after the closing iris, the first time being in Treasure Those Idol Moments. Coincidentally, the crashes (debatably) cause the deaths of both Lumpy and Flaky in both episodes.
  • Petunia's injury before death is similar to that of Handy's injury before death in Shard at Work, Heather's death in 1000 Ways to Die segments, "Cham-Pained", Alexis's death in 1000 Ways to Die segments, "Sky Scraped", and Disco Bear's death in Mime to Five.
  • Cuddles' injury before death is similar to Toothy's death in Eye Candy.

Continuity[]

  • This is the second episode in which Lumpy is a school bus driver. The first is Happy Trails Pt. 1. Likely by coincidence, both episodes are season finales.
    • The cast of characters who appeared in the episode are also the same, with the addition of Handy, The Mole, Mime, and Giggles.

Production Notes[]

  • Despite Ellen Connell having replaced her at this point, this episode is the final time Dana Belben is credited, as her old voice clips are used.
  • The crew used bitmap images for the zoo textures, then imported them to Toon Boom.
  • This episode was screened at Comic-Con 2005 to great reception.
  • Warren has stated that the scene where Lumpy accidentally kill the baby chicks was what he considered to be "taking it too far". [1]
