Should the wiki get a Discord

I've been noticing a large trend of wikis moving to discord, over skype and the wiki chats themselves. Should this wiki have a discord?

Unlike skype, or wiki chats. You have a real good judge of who is and who isn't on the discord server, and you can set multiple channels up on a server. It could be a good place to replace forums. Since they have custom emotes that can be fixed up to allow voting. It can be also added to the twitter, and we can move people around, and get interest in the discord. It might even be easy to get kenn to join, but don't quote me on that.

If you are refering to me, then I said this because it was my ultimatum to support Discord and that I know that you would probably have come up with this idea to remove them sooner or later either way. Getting this idea to just remove them just because I said not to is just stupid. Removing the HTF chat from here is just completly pointless, since pretty much all the other Wikis which are using Discord are using their chats as optional to Discord too. Removing the forums would be even more pointless, since the Wikia will still remove the forums either way. Regarding Discussions, I was opposing this like the rest did, but the reason why was because I still had hopes for the forums too. However, if now the forums goes and there is nothing for us to do about this, then I am going to support Discussions as optional to Discord instead. Discussions doesn't necessary has to be that bad, but it's just bad compared to the forums. It's a total shame that the Wikia doesn't even care what most of the users want. /Kenny Navarro (talk)

Well, I don't know why you are so hostile to just moving all to Discord. We have 28 users on the Discord. More than the chat ever had, and more than forum ever had. It has more ability to control who can do things, allows for infinite posts, which is better than the forums 500 and cutoff. It is much more modern, and can be built to our demands. Holding on to things no one will use anymore is pretty silly. Especially chat. 3 users in a month when the discord got over 28 in a week up.

Not really, but what is really silly is removing things which doesn't even have to be removed in the first place just because somehing else is more popular. You should probably look up the word optional, because you doesn't really seems to understand the meaning of what that word means. I still understand that Discord will be the main thing, but not "all" of the users on the HTF Wiki will be using Discord. It doesn't matter at all that there are 28 users on Discord. 28 users are not everybody and I am amazed that you doesn't get this. Yeah, I am hostile regarding moving everything over to Discord and I have written why over and over again now. I am actually fine with Discord, as long as there are optional alternatives too. The forums will actually be deleted by the Wikia sooner or later, so it's not even a point to delete the forums. Personallity I am actually welcoming Discussions, even if I would have prefered the forums. Can Discord even archive the forums like Discussions can then? /Kenny Navarro (talk)

It can not rn archive, nor would I want it to. It is also not a very good idea to keep things up that are not being used. Albiet forums are still being used, but chat isn't, and people joining with no one else there does not count as using chat. Also, you really do need to join discord. I might have a vote up soon making it manatory for staff of the wiki to have discord unless they absolutely can not get it. I understand optional, but sometimes it is useless to keep options if one option is never used or used sporadically, and than go dead for a long time. I know you don't like moving to new things, but you can't keep something that will not be used.

Which just gave me another reason for me to be supporting Discussions. Archiving is actually very useful and I have no idea why you would not want this. Yeah, the forums are still active. However, the HTF chat is not really active like it is on some other Wikis, but it's still great that it is there if somebody have some questions and this user doesn't have Discord either. Seems like a rather stupid vote, but it would not be the first one. It's not useless as I have written before and the HTF chat is not even in the way, so removing it is what really is useless. I will not change my opinion regarding this. The HTF chat is optional and can still be helpful. /Kenny Navarro (talk)
